Cheerleading and Soccer are both very difficult sports. They both require a lot of stamina and skill. Cheerleading is more extreme and dangerous than soccer. But, there is no true way to determine if a sport is "harder" than another
There is no way to determine if a sport is "harder" than another sport. Cheerleading and Volleyball are two very different sports, and they noth require much athletic skill.
So lets compare voleyball and cheering (I'm going to use All-Star cheering here)
Goal of Sport:
Volleyball: Hit the ball over the net in a way that your opponent is unable to return it, therefore gaining a point.
Cheerleading: Perform a 2:30 routine (composed of stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance) without flaws to receive a higher score than your opponent.
In terms of skill:
Volleyball: Volleyball requires stamina, agility, speed, strength
Cheerleading: Cheering requires, stamina, strength, flexibility, and coordination
In terms of difficulty:
There is no doubt that volleyball is difficult. But however, many elements of cheerleading such as stunts(lifting people) and tumbling are also very complicated and difficult
In terms of danger:
Cheerleading is the 3rd most dangerous sport in the world. Volleyball doesn't make the list.
Safety:
Volleyball: Indoor players might wear knee pads, but for the most part, no body pretection
Cheerleading: Mats, however no body protection
p.s. i am a cheerleader we work harder we dont just clap and shake our butts....actualy we dont do that at all we lift people, run, condition, pushups,do splits 4 minutes on each side, tumble, leg lifts, have to go to every practice or were off, we have no backup memeber WE WORK HARDER !!!!!!!!!
I would say cheer is more harder than volleyball Iβm not saying volleyball is not hard but cheer is more hard because if your doing a stunt and doing a flip in a stunt than that is like a 90% chance of you falling to the ground and if your doing a stunt on concrete and if you fall than you get serious injuries and volleyball is a net in the middle and you have a little bit more protection cause of the kneepads and some volleyball players wear long sleeves thatβs even more protection and cheer only in practice you have mats not in performances or in competitions you have to do it on the bare floor or concrete so in my opinion cheer is more harder than volleyball again not saying that volleyball is not hard.
There is no way to determine if a sport is "harder" than another sport.
So lets compare tennis and cheering (I'm going to use All-Star cheering here)
Goal of Sport:
Tennis: Hit the ball over the net in such a way that your opponent cant return it and therefore gain a point.
Cheerleading: Perform a 2:30 routine (composed of stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance) without flaws to receive a higher score than your opponent.
In terms of skill:
Tennis: Tennis requires stamina, coordination, agility, speed
Cheerleading: Cheering requires, stamina, strength, flexibility, and coordination
In terms of difficulty:
Not to down tennis, but I think its more difficult to throw a girl in the air, or do a back tuck than it is to hit a ball over a net.
In terms of danger:
Cheerleading is the 3rd most dangerous sport in the world. Tennis does not make the top ten.
I've talked to a few people who do both sports and 80% said that cheering was the harder of the two sports they played
Well it depends. For an example, sometimes people are good at volleyball but are bad at soccer. But some hard sports are Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Waterpolo, Lacroose, and Rugby.Remeber it depends though.
Well, I did Cheer and I continue to play volleyball today. You really can't compare the two unless you've played them both.
In volleyball the key to the game is to serve to ball over the net, which is a lot harder than it looks, and hope that the opposite team doesn't return the ball.
In volleyball, you can't catch the ball like you can in football. You either have to bump it, set it, or hit it. But you CANNOT hit off a serve. Bumping is very difficult because you need ball control. Setting is one of the hardest things in the game. You have to push the ball pull with only your fingertips all at the same time. Hitting is hard, but if you can get on top of the ball, you can make a great hit. We also HUSTLE and RUN everywhere. If you are walking, my coach will make you do suicides, wall sits, and bleachers. We can't be afraid of the ball and we have to dive and move like our lives depend on it.
In cheer, you do a series of stunts, tumbling, and routines without mistakes to get the highs score possible. I know Cheer is hard because I did Cheer for a while and IT IS A SPORT. There are so many things that can go wrong with Cheer. Example, I was performing in a park for some preschoolers and I was at full extensions. My base started to move a lot, but she does it all the time which is unsafe. Turns out there was a spider crawling up her leg, so she screamed and let go of my foot. I fell and my head hit the concrete.
I'm not saying that Volleyball or Cheer is easy because if sports were easy, everyone would play them. You can get seriously injured in both sports. Something I've experienced.
But I think Volleyball is harder than cheer. Cheer is still very difficult, but I've seriously messed up my knee in Volleyball, so now I have to wear knee braces. But I still love it.
Totally. Cheerleading causes way More issues. Soccer causes only SOME ISSUES. However, Cheerleading, Flyers are thrown up in the air. CHEERLEADING IS WAY MORE DANGEROUS! i think that they are both very dangerous sports. no need to say one is more dangerous then the other. both have very big risks. and have seen many injuries from both cheerleading and soccer.
Harder soccer is a fast paced and intense kind of soccer. People tackle harder and there are less restrictions from the referee.
cheerleading
Well, soccer and cheerleading, because in soccer you have no helmet and a soccer ball is a pretty hard ball, and cheerleading because you have to be very loud. the sound can shake your eardrum when you can go deaf with both sports.
No cheerleading is way harder and you learn many diffrent skills that involves cheering, dancing, tumbling and stunts. Gymnastic invovles Vault, Beam, and Floor and in cheerleading compettions worlds and many more :) PS: GO GREENSBORO ALL-STAR CHEERLEADING!
Cheerleading can help your health by making you fit. Most people do not realize it but, cheerleading is a lot harder than it looks. There is a lot of physical ability that is needed to be able to cheer.
If you ask me, the stunts are both the same. No matter what you cheer for, you have the same stunts, tumbling.
