cabriole
That is what we call a type of jete (forget what it's called at the moment), which is a type of dancing ballet. There are different types; brisees and batteries.
A Cabriole: ["caper"]. A step of elevation in which the extended legs are beaten in the air. The working leg is thrust into the air and the underneath leg follows and beats against the first leg sending it higher. The landing is made on the underneath leg.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by steps, but leaps are when you do some form of traveling step ( I prefer a tombe, pa de burre, glisad then leap) and then you go into a leap or jete. You raise your front leg, push into the air with your back, try to do a split in the air, and land on your front leg.
If you are standing on one leg (with the other leg off the ground), that leg is called your supporting leg because it is supporting you.
Pirouette (a turn done on one leg with the other leg in passe)
