From my experience im a freshman girl who had never heard or touched a Discus before and I threw a standing throw of about 75, however the distance all depeneds on form strength and sometimes luck. Once you learnt eh full spin you will stat to se a dramadic increase in your distances (begining of the season I was only throwing 60s 70s now that the season is almost over and I leanred the full spin im starting to break 100 which means i made states. If you are seriouse about this and you coach has faith in you then i would recomend getting a private coach who could work 1 on 1 with you.
I just turned 13 in February and at my school you start sports in 7th grade. My PR is 83.7 ft and my average now that the season is almost over is 80 ft at practice and meets.I throw 80 with my spin.My coach does have faith in me and constantly pushes me to do better.Always have a good mix of Height and Speed,if u have too much of either you will get out of sector or like 50 feet.I am a black athlete so I've done other sports but it all depends on the individual.
well that depends. anywhere from 80 feet to 95 feet is great any higher than that and yo should have a record id say. ACTUALLY, IT IS TRUE THAT 80-95 IS "GREAT" BUT THE QUESTION WAS ABOUT THE AVERAGE. THE AVERAGE JR HIGH SCHOOL GIRL THROWS THE 1 KG DISCUS (STANDARD SIZE FOR TRACK MEETS) 45-58 FEET. THE AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL GIRL THROWS 55-66 FEET. I HAVE COACHED DISCUS FOR MANY YEARS, AND AN 80 FOOT THROW IS ALMOST ALWAYS TOP 3 OF 25 COMPETITORS. 95 WOULD ALMOST ALWAYS WIN -- AT THE VARSITY LEVEL.
on my track team and according to the league standards from where i live (southeast PA), 94 feet it a pretty decent throw. IF you are a 14 year old girl and are throwing it that far you should be pretty happy with yourself. good work.
I am above average but I am a sophomore going into junior year throwing 37 feet. But I think average is mid 20s. but if you are looking to get into this in college for a scholarship , you need to throw 42 ft. good luck
between 100 - 120 a throw of 145 or higher is good enough for state.
The average shot put throw for an 11 year old girl is around 5-7 meters. However, this can vary depending on the level of training and natural ability of the individual.
As a javelin throw myself I would have to say that an average is 500 feet for a 17 year old girl.
distance"Mid twenties
Well I'm 13 right now and My personal best was 9.64 m so on average you should be able to throw around 7-8 meters
No it would't be.
The cast of Carnal Priest - 1996 includes: Katherine Discus as Girl
If you throw javelin fairly far, and you are a girl on top of that, you are very likely to be recruited for college. The likelihood of achieving a full scholarship, however, for just javelin, is unlikely. I consistently threw in the high 120s in high school, and was recruited by many colleges. I ended up with a 3/4 scholarship to a very prestigious NCAA Division 1 school, but I think the fact that I knew how to throw discus and shot put also helped. If you are a girl and throw javelin, there's a high chance you'll get recruited. There aren't many states that throw javelin in high school, so the pool of colleges is rather large compared to the number of elite high school javelin throwers. My advice to you is to stick with it and focus on becoming better every day. Also, be open to all of the colleges recruiting you and build good relationships with each no matter what division they are. Some D3 programs are better than some at the D1 level and sometimes they can offer more "financial aid." Good luck! --Fellow Javelin Thrower
That is an IQ well above average for any age. This girl should be taking advanced classes and saving for college.
