There are a few things you can do that will help you be prepared.
1. Work on your tumbling. Back handsprings, cartwheels, roundoffs, stuff like that...
2. Work on jumps and splits. Middle split especially!
3. Run every day. This will help build up leg muscles, which you need. Especially if you are a base.
4. work on sharp motions. Look in the mirror. Be sure to smile, too!!!
5. Don't stress! stressing will just get you more nervous. Relax, if you don't make it, there's always next year!!!!

Gymnastics and dance seem to be part of the Cheerleading skill set. If you can find a cheerleader willing to help tutor you to get ready for the tryouts, that would help. However, getting ready may take months rather than weeks since there is a lot to learn.
