NPPL mode is the paintball electric board setting which is allowed in NPPL tournaments. It is semi automatic (non ramping or full auto) which is capped (restricted) to 15 balls per second. This means that even if you are pulling the trigger 20 times a second, only 15 balls will shoot.

NXL mode on paintball markers is the mode used by the National X-ball League.

When in NXL mode the marker fires semi automatic for the first 3 trigger pulls, after that the gun will fire Full-Automatic if the trigger is held. NXL is capped at 15 Balls Per Second.

PSP modes come in different years, but it is basically this. First 3-4 balls are semi auto After that it goes into 3 round burst Once you stop shooting consistently, it goes back to semi.
