a 16 year old should be lifting in his bench press around 150 and 200 pounds, if you bench within these numbers than your in pretty good shape. But if were talking about squating it should be around 200 threw 250 pounds , but most 16 year olds barely squat as much as bench.
150-180
it depends what age you are. 13-14 -->110-125 15-16 -->125-140 17-18 -->140-155 it will go on according to that little chart until you are about 35 - 40 depending on your physical condition. that is where you will start losing strength.
Sam Harvill from Shiloh Christian in Arkansas currently holds the worth record for bench press for 15/16 yr olds by doing 515 lbs. he also broke the record for 13 yr olds and 14 yr olds. not sure bout ne others so far since he is still 16, but he did 56 reps on bench for 185 lbs.
As of May 16, 2008 Johnny Bench is very much alive.
well you're above average that you can bench press 200 pounds. that's really good.
It is not easy to answer this question... I believe that you should be able to bench at least your weight, perhaps not right away but within 2 to 3 months. Until then you should try and lift 60% of your weight for at least 3 sets of 10.
I am 15 years of age 140 pounds I am able to bench press 215 pounds if you could bench press your bodyweight than you are good but a great number would be your bodyweight multiplyed by 1.5 I only weighlift once a week and make sure not to overtrain as it can cause injury also you must eat a healthy diet if you want to see results or else you are not going to see progress also do not lift up weights to the point in which you start to get over developed.
Bench Warmer
Kids should not benchpress have him do pushups or something not weight liftingWhy can't a kid bench press? I coach Rugby League and some of the heavy lads struggled to do 3 or 4 press ups but they can perform light bench presses with a bar or dumbells and their press ups have also improved. Weight training when properly supervised is very good for kids.Any amount you can do with out struggling and straining your muscles do less reps.It would depend on how old the 'kid' is. Surely, a parent would not want their child benchpressing. But if that 'kid' is 16 or older, wouldn't it be something they could do?Kids should not benchpress????????????????????OMG LOLim 12 i can bench press 120-130 pounds on the military press were there's no danger of a bar falling on your neck and killing you :)< which is what i suggest to use for kids to bench press
Start by using light weight and do all core movements. Bench press, squat, deadlift are the big three. For the first year you should focus on doing the exercise correctly in a rep range of 8-12.
