It's a difficult run. The best advice I can give is just go as fast as you can and when you thinks it's fast enough, go faster.
From mylilbeebee:
I run the 1600 and am training for the 2400 at my school(and hurdles, but that's not really long distance).
When we warm up by running really fast 800's we fast jog the curves and sprint the straights the whole time. Hope I helped :)
An average person can run one mile in 7 to 10 minutes, so take half of that time.
you jog in the first half then you run in the second half
Yes, it will make you run half a mile a lot faster. If you can do 3 miles then you can run a half mile much faster than before.
that is really slow. i ran my first mile half in 9:30
If your goal is a 11 min. mile and a half, your mile time should be about 7:33.
you run on the track and sometimes on the street and/or road
I have to run a mile and a half today for a military PFT (Physical Fitness Test) and the standard for full points is 9:36...
Practice and training. The record for a mile is less than 4 minutes, so half a mile should be easy.
The treadmill pace to run a 10.24-minute mile and a half must be at least 8.8 miles per hour.
Wilson Kipketer holds a record of 1 minute 41.11 second half mile.
I think if you are a fast runner I think you should sprint half and jog half your last mile.
At the top levels of thoroughbred racing in the United States, a horse can run a half mile in an average of 44-49 seconds. The 44 second half mile is very rare, however.
