Calories burned swimming for one hour
  • I was told that you can burn approximately 450 calories in an hour, but only if you are swimming as if in a practice. That means you don't stop very often to relax. You have to keep the pace going. Doing something like a butterfly stoke (which requires a lot of effort) solidly for one hour might burn 500-700 depending on your weight.
  • I'm not sure if this is correct but I heard that if you can manage to build up your pace and get to the stage where you can swim one whole mile in 33 minutes it will burn approximately 425 calories. I'm joining my school swim team next week.
  • The number of calories burned swimming depends on how fast you are swimming, what swimming stroke you use, the amount of effort required from you, how far you swim, and how often you rest. Please feel free to ask the question again and include more detail.

It depends on your weight and how much effort you put into it as well as such things as the swimming stroke you use, how fast you swim, and how far you swim.

For example, some people say that if you can manage to build up your pace and stamina and get to the stage where you can swim one whole mile in 33 minutes it will burn approximately 425calories.

You can burn up to 300 calories when you go freestyle swimming for an hour. You can burn more than this if you are swimming intensely.

Depends on how fast you swim the laps, how heavy you are, how thick the water is and how long the pool is.

In swimming, the front crawl is another name for swimming freestyle. Depending on how fast a person is swimming and a body's metabolism, you can burn between 400 and 600 calories.

The answer varies for everybody. It depends on your speed, metabolism, and how much you are working. Generally, swimming moderately slowly, you would burn about 700 calories.
