There is no metabolic equation for swimmers because every swimmer swims at a different efficiency.
The easiest way to do it would be to check your heart rate somewhere towards the end of your 15 minutes. Do a 15-30 second count because your HR drops QUICK after exercise. (Subtract about 12 beats per minute from your heart rate (BPM) because your heart doesnt have to work so hard to return blood when under water and it will mess up the calculation if you dont compensate for this).
HR is nearly linear to the amount of oxygen you consume (VO2) so find a reference chart of VO2 vs Heart Rate online and see what your VO2 is at the exercise heart rate, which will be in the units "ml of O2/kg of body weight/min". From that, calculate how many Liters of Oxygen you consumed during the 15 minute swim using your body weight and minutes swimming. Once your have calculated the Liters of Oxygen you consumed you know how many calories you burned because 1 liter of oxygen = 5 calories burned.
If you know how to do math, its all right there :) The hardest part is finding the VO2 vs HR chart.
If someone is swimming for 35 minutes just for fun, it will burn around 300 calories. If swimming using specialized strokes, it could burn up to 500 calories.
It entirely depends on your work-out intensity. Swimming and ruining burned the most calories.
Calories burned swimming for one hourI was told that you can burn approximately 450 calories in an hour, but only if you are swimming as if in a practice. That means you don't stop very often to relax. You have to keep the pace going. Doing something like a butterfly stoke (which requires a lot of effort) solidly for one hour might burn 500-700 depending on your weight.I'm not sure if this is correct but I heard that if you can manage to build up your pace and get to the stage where you can swim one whole mile in 33 minutes it will burn approximately 425 calories. I'm joining my school swim team next week. The number of calories burned swimming depends on how fast you are swimming, what swimming stroke you use, the amount of effort required from you, how far you swim, and how often you rest. Please feel free to ask the question again and include more detail..
Around 450 calories
How many calories are burned when swimming depends on the person's weight and the size of the pool. For a person who weighs 150 pounds in a pool that is 25 yards in length they will burn 414 calories for an hour of doing a front crawl.
You can burn as many as 100 calories per hour just swimming casually in salt water. You can burn up to 500 calories per hour if you're swimming vigorously.
You will burn 500 calories for ten minutes of speed dancing!

For a 98 minute workout of tae-bo the calories burned should be about 1390-1400.
You can burn 150 to 250 calories for 15 minutes. Calories burned also depends on how much you sweat and how overweight you are.
