Yes, the PDC use the Unicorn Eclipse Pro dart board, it has razor thin wires so it increases the size of doubles and trebles, but only marginally. The BDO use the Winmau Blade III, it has thicker wires, than the Unicorn, but it barely affects scoring.
My brand new Blade4 was delivered this week... AWESOME!
Although colors and wire thicknesses and shapes may vary somewhat among the PROFESSIONAL DARTS CORPORATION, the BRITISH DARTS ORGANISATION and the AMERICAN DARTS ORGANIZATION, certain standards must be maintained:

To reach the PDC Dart Championship, a player typically needs to qualify through a series of tournaments, such as the PDC Qualifying School, where they can earn a professional tour card. Consistent performance in various PDC events and regional qualifiers is crucial to gain ranking points and establish a competitive presence. Additionally, honing skills through practice and participating in local competitions can help a player improve their game and increase their chances of qualifying for prestigious events like the PDC World Championship. Networking within the dart community and gaining sponsorship can also provide valuable support and opportunities.
In professional darts, there are two main organisations. BDO (British Darts Organisation) and PDC (Professional Darts Corporation). There is fierce rivalry between the two. The BDO used to be the only one, but some of the top players like Phil Taylor thought the owners didn't do enough to get big tournaments and good prize money. So he and a few other players broke away and started the PDC in 1992. The PDC has all the best players, the better tournaments and better prize money. The PDC World Championship is held at Alexandra Palace in London, usually from mid December to early January. The most recent 2010 Championship had 72 players with a winners' cheque of £200,000. The BDO World Championship is held at Frimley Green in Surrey, this year it had 32 players with a winners' cheque of £100,000. It is usual for BDO players to make the switch to the PDC if they want to become full time, and it is called darts' bitter divide.
£10,000
In the 2013 Ladbrokes PDC Darts Championship, a nine-dart finish earned a player a prize of £20,000. This reward was part of the tournament's overall prize structure, which incentivized players for achieving this rare and impressive feat in darts.
Ted Hankey was the 2009 BDO World Champion, and Phil Taylor was the 2009 PDC World Champion. Phil Taylor also won the 2010 PDC World Championship, the 2010 Championship started on December 18th 2009 and Finshed on January 3rd 2010.
