An overhead pass is a pass thrown overhead. This is done by grabbing the ball with both hands and bringing it behind your head. After that, just chuck the ball forwards. That is an overhead pass.
A pass is usually used when a team is receiving the serve. A pass is usually made with the forearms (bump) although you can overhead pass (set) a serve too. The goal of a pass is to get the ball perfectly to the setter so that she/he can assist a hitter. Passes are scored as a 3 2 1 or 0. 3 is a perfect pass and 0 is a shanked ball. A dig is not the same as a pass!
