If the bunt goes towards the pitcher or third base line the pitcher. If up the first base line the first baseman and the pitcher covers first
In most cases the 2nd baseman will be covering 1st base on a bunt play.
A bunt hit is scored as a single.
That situation sounds somewhat similar to what is called the rotation play or wheel play in bunt situations. During a bunt situation, usually the first baseman and third baseman cover the bunt while the second baseman will cover first base and the shortstop will cover third base. In the situation you describe it sounds like the shortstop would be the defensive player to cover third base.
fluke bunt is a fluke bunt
pitcher- pitches thre ball and covers home when the catcher leaves catcher- catches pitches, leader of the field, tells pitcher what pitch to throw first base- catches most balls thrown to first base, usually charges on a bunt second base-usually has coverage of first base on a bunt third base- usually charges on a bunt shortstop- second leader of the field, covers where coverage is needed, can call off anyone in the infield left field- plays on the grass with the other outfielders centerfield- plays directly behind second base usually, can call off ant\yone on the field right field- plays on the grass with the other outfielders
this is a bunt cake.
A slash bunt is when the batter attemps to bunt the bat and while the ball comes back the batter swings instead of bunts and the main point of this is to hit it right by the foul line over the heads of the third and first basemen
It depends on what the meaning behind the bunt is, and what side you are batting from. Also the defensive set can be a contributing factor. If its a bunt to get on base you are probably going to put it down the first base line, with the first basemen holding the runner on. For a sacrifice bunt to move the runner, anywhere but directly to the pitcher and fair should do.
A batter can bunt anytime ...whether it's wise to bunt is a different story.
yes
