Not sure what you mean by regular softball. If you are referring to recreation or "rec" ball through your local rec department then typically travel ball is much harder. You are facing teams that are hand picked with little regard to where they live or attend school. Travel teams have the ability to seek out the best player they can find at each position. A rec team gets the players that sign up to play regardless of their ability.
