Well lets start with gear from first to last: shin guards(2), socks(over the shin guards), pants(over the socks), chest pad, elbow pads(2), jersey, skates(on feet, please tie them tight so you don't hurt yourself, if it hurts your fingers get a skate hook), helmet(on head, strap up all straps, use a cage to cover your face so you don't get hit in the face with a puck), gloves(on your hands so you can hold your hockey stick, and so your hands don't get cold while on the ice).
you will need a mouth guard if you are ice puppie, mite, squirt, peewee, and bantams, i don't know about midget and mens/womens league. You will need 6 people on the ice, goalie, defense(left and right), forwards(right wing left wing and center), same with the other team, usually for squirts and up you should get 10-20 minute period, there will be 3 periods, make sure you have a referee.
watch out for offsides, icing, and penalties, try to keep your gear on, sometimes they can come off. Don't shoot the puck so hard it hits the net above the boards. Don't fight, and don't argue with the referees. You could get kicked off the ice for the rest of the game.
for squirt and up there should be one Captain(wearing C on left side of the jersey), two assistant captains(wearing A on left side of the jersey, three is allowed too), and about three coaches(two assistants, and one head coach).
hope that helped you out! :)
you need to learn to skate.
you need to learn hockey not soccer
Helmet,Gloves,Shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin gaurds, skates, stick, puck, jersey, and hockey socks For field hockey you only need shinguards, mouthguard, a stick and a uniform, unless you want to be a goalie.
It would probably be hockey. You need to learn to skate, skate with a stick, control the puck. In football, you have to learn to throw/catch the ball, but running is easier than skating.
To play floor hockey, one would need a lightweight plastic ball, or a heavier ball. Sometimes a normal hockey stick, field hockey or bandy sticks are required.
Well , when you are using a big stick it will drag in the dirt but on ice it will just slide so it will be harder to move in the field so the answer is no.
I think you shoould go with Gymnastics and field hockey it will work I know it will!!!
Defiantly hand-eye coordination, passion for the sport, and a great attitude! :D
Of course not. All you need to do is get the equipment and join a team. Most players can explain the rules you need to know and show you some of the useful skills involved; if you prefer, the Rules are available at the FIH website and there are many training videos both on the internet and in some stores.
I am a AAA hockey player, they do not require us to wear hockey shorts, but hockey pants are a neccesity.
About 5 hours each of fitness and skills training, if possible, depending on the level of your team.
muscle strength to use the stick speed- beat the other team down the field you need strength because to be able to push pass or drive the ball, etc. you need strong arm muscles (most likely your triceps and biceps)
