Jordan played his high school ball at Emsley A. Laney High School (the "Buccaneers") in Wilmington, North Carolina where he played baseball, football, and basketball.

He played basketball at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (the "Tar Heels") from 1981 to 1984.

From 1984 to 1993 he played Basketball for the Chicago Bulls

In 1994, Jordan played baseball for the Birmingham Barons, a Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox

He also appeared for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the 1994 Arizona Fall League

In 1995 he returned to the Bulls and played for them from 1995 to 1998, then retired (again) in January 1999.

In 2000 he became part owner and President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards and in 2001 he decided to un-retire (again) and play for the Wizards from 2001-2003 - at which time he retired for good.

He also played on two US Olympic Basketball teams. As a college player he participated, and helped his team win the gold, in the 1984 Summer Olympics. In the 1992 Summer Olympics he was a member of the star-studded squad that included Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and David Robinson and was dubbed the "Dream Team". They won most of their games in blow-outs and easily won the Gold Medal in that Olympics.
