Lets say hypothetically you are a Basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. It would be in your contract to stay in Los Angeles for as long as the contract requires. That meaning you could not leave the city without breaking the contract. If you do leave the city it would be breaking the contract do to a "traveling violation"

Movement while playing for your team is another such way to incur one fault where you run with the ball in hand and don't bounce it back

You cant take three or more steps without dribbling the ball or else it is ruled as a traveling violation and will result in a turnover in the NBA.

If someone has a ball and they take two steps without bouncing it, it is traveling.

"Traveling" means that you are moving with the ball but not bouncing it properly on the court - just walking or running while holding the ball.
