It is cheaper to get the A5 then the 98 with Cyclone. They will be identical otherwise, except for looks.
No. The trigger assembly for the a5 is set up very different from the 98 custom.
No it does not. there is only one 98 shroud: Related links
No. the thread pattern is NOT the same
The a5 is a better starter gun because for the price, you get a better gun and in truth, the 98 is a little out-dated these days. The a-5 does use up a lot of co2 due to the cyclone feed system.
No, the screw set is off and there is holes for the cyclone feed.
In theory it should, but it all depends on the aftermarket producer. If Tippmann produced it, it most likely is universal. If it is not however, it is most like A5 specific.
This statement is half true but half untrue. The tippmann A5 and 98 custom do indeed have different threads. But after the A5 tippmann made the X7 which has identical threads to that of an A5. Because of this a barrel with "Tippmann A5" threads, will fit on a tippmann x7, but will not fit on a tippmann 98 custom.
I believe it is a5/x7 threaded.
Unfortunately no. It would require heavy modification and machining to fit.
No, they will not both fit unless you have it custom fitted.
Yes, all 98 threaded barrels fit: model 98 98 custom alpha black/ bravo one project salvo/ tango one carver one They will NOT fit: tippmann A5 Tippmann X7/ phenom TPX pistol tippmann prolite spyders or any other companies
