after about 2 seconds the refs will blow the whistle and hold 2 thumbs up. that means "jump ball" and no they don't chuck it up in the air like they do at the start but whatever team last had possession from a jump ball the other team will now get get

A jumpball will be called. In college there is a possession arrow that determines who gets the ball, in the NBA, the referee throws the ball up and the two players try to tip it to their teammates.

It is a jump ball. the team that has the possession arrow {pointing to it bench} next to scorers clock receives the ball on a side out. Then procession arrow then switches to the other bench for the next jump procession.
