One of the most important parts of volleyball is a "pass/set/hit" or a "bump/set/spike" combo. One passer passes the ball to a setter, and they set up the volleyball high into the air above the net, but still on their side. Once there is an opprotunity, the spiker jumps up and delivers a kill to the other side of the net.
There are a lot of mechanics that need to be finessed to be a good Badminton player. It's important, for example, to be light on your feet so you can quickly move to wherever the birdie is hit.
The mechanics in the game of volleyball are rather complicated. There are many and it takes hard work and conditioning along with experience to be able to perfect them every time. When you are passing you must be have your knees bent and arms out. You do not want to be bending your back a lot, just primarily your knees. You should move your feet to the ball and try to align your hips with your target (usually your setter). You should try to get your hips around the ball as to not swing them very much. You don't want to swing your arms very much, they should never come above your chin really. As a passer you want to direct your pass to the setter so she/he can make a successful set. To set you also want to have your knees bent. You want to get under the ball and contact the ball with your fingertips. As you contact the ball you should push up with your legs to help direct the ball where you want it to go, (some setters even jump when they set). A set cannot touch the palm of your hand. There are many more mechanics but those are the bare basics.
