Field Hockey was started in Europe and India, the object of the game is to get the ball into the goal, it's a non contact sport, it's fast moving and there are alot of penelties. Field hockey is one of the oldest competitive sports which is recorded way back into Ancient Greek Olympic games. There has been found of drawings in a tomb like place in Beni-Hasen in the Nile Valley of Egypt showing males playing this sport. The drawings are to be over 4000 years old. Modern field hockey began in England then travel all around the world. which began the first International hockey competition in 1895. The first woman's field hockey club was made in 1887 in East Mosley, England. So basically this field hockey hs changed a lot since then. Now this sport is more of a female sport but males can join of they like but they have to wear our uniforms which isn't really for guys they think because we have kilts which are basically skirts. So you get my drift. Field hockey is a game where you have two teams wanting to score a goal to win. Each team has eleven players, five forwards, three half backs, two full backs, and a goalie keeper. Each half is about thirty minutes unless there is over time. Before the game the referees will flip a coin and who ever had picked that side gets to pick weather they want possession or to pick a side. Then they will put the ball starts at the center of the field and who ever has possession get to hit it back to her team. You can only use the flat left side of your stick. You can only score if the ball goes pass the line between the goal post. If plays are to intense or you hit a high ball the referees will call a foul which means the other team get the ball. If you get a foul the referee can call a free hit, corners, or a stroke to the opposite team. And who ever gets the most points in the end are the winners. This sport is a game played outside on a field. Field hockey is played on all five continents by 3 million people around the world. it's a summer game in one of the twenty seven Olympic sports played.
