Yes. If the batter turns around and bunts with a runner or runners on base in an attempt to move them up a base while giving himself up as an out the play is considered a sacrifice.

No.

A sacrifice must be either a bunt or a fly ball.

A ground out is a ground out, even if it results in a run scored.

In NCAA baseball a batter bunts with a runner on second base and advances him to third is this a sacrifice?

Yes it is considered a sacrifice.

If a Sacrifice fly is caught in foul territory is it counted as an at bat?

A batter is not charged with an at bat when he is credited with a sacrifice fly or sacrifice bunt. The main issue is the umpire's judgement: did the batter purposely sacrifice himself in order to move up the runner(s) with less than 2 outs? If so-- and if the runners did move up or score successfully-- he shall not be charged with an at bat. Baseball's accounting therefore does not penalize a batter if he sacrificed himself for the team's benefit. (An at bat with a fly or bunt out would lower the batter's batting average.) Is it considered an at bat if asked to sacrifice with runners on first and second with none out and the batter ends up safe at first because of a fielding error?

If the official scorer deems that the sacrifice was successful, he will credit the batter with a sacrifice. So the hitter will not be credited with an at-bat.

If the bases are loaded and the batter kicks the ball what happens?

What is considered a plate appearance in baseball?

A completed turn in the batter's box. This could result in a hi,walk, sacrifice fly. sacrifice bunt, hit by pitch, or catchers interference. The at bat is not a plate appearance if the 3rd out is recorded before the batter has done one of the above. The batter would lead off the next inning with a 0-0 count.

Do you get out when you get a SAC in baseball?

Usually, but not always. SAC is an abbreviation for a sacrifice, a play when the batter turns and bunts the ball in order to advance runners on base while being put out at first base. But, if the fielder makes an error on the play and the batter is not put out the official scorer can still credit the batter with a sacrifice.

If a player hits the ball to the right side of the infield so that the runner on third could score is that considered a sacrifice?

No, it is not considered a sacrifice unless the batter is advanced as a result of a bunt. Also, a fly ball that is caught is only considered a sacrifice if a runner tags and scores on the play. If a runner tags at 1B or 2B on the caught fly ball, and advances one base, it is not considered a sacrifice fly.

Why is there no sacrifice ground ball in baseball?

There is no sacrifice ground ball in baseball because you don't try to sacrifice yourself to advance the runner on the ground ball. Also, on a bunt, it's hard to get the leading runner anyway, so the fielder most of the time goes for the batter at first. On a ground ball however, the fielder most of the time has an easy option for the lead runner as well as the batter.

Why do we use baseball averages?

to calculate the posibility of a batter getting a hit. An aveage better than .300 is considered good.

What does SH in baseball mean?

SH in Baseball stands for "Sacrifice Hit" - also known as a Sacrifice Bunt. It is when a batter comes up with a runner or two on base and less than two outs, and intentionally bunts the ball in a way that the fielders have to get him out- which allows the other runners to move up a base or even score. The batter "sacrifices" himself to allow the other runners to advance.

How do you use bunting in a sentence?
