every year 20 teams are in the Barclays league the last 3 each year drop to the lower level and the top 3 in the lower division replace them. the first 3 teams in Barclays league qualify for champions league and the 4th enters a group stage to enter it

So n = 20 therefore...
n x (n-1) = 20 x (20-1) = 20 x 19 = 360.
360 games are played per season in the Premier League.
