If you want to play like a champion, then leave your emotions at home. Play with the mission to win, but do know that you can't win forever. Be prepared to transition your feelings from "winning streak" mode to "losing streak" mode as fast as it can happen. And never ever make any guarantees. An example of a sports star letting his feelings eat him up more recently, is Mo Williams of the Cavaliers. He guaranteed that the Cavaliers would win the Magic series. Don't do that! Real champions don't make guarantee. They just play and keeping playing. They work hard "on" & "off" the court, playing field, etc. As the saying goes, "Action speaks louder than words." You can smile & laugh with your teammates and have fun with them, but keep it to a minimum. Remain focused and encourage your teammates to get better. Give your teammates' advices to improve on their own game, if you are the team's leader. And lastly, lead by example. Maybe I have yet to answer your question, but here is an answer, if that's what you are looking for. Fear & anticipation can only hurt your mentality or sports mindset while playing. As I've said before, you should leave those at home. One final thought is that if you let those feelings eat you, chances are you are going to do something against your own will, just so that you can look like a superstar in your fans' eyes. Whatever it is, don't ever cheat to win. Doping, using illegal, performance-enhancing drugs is unnecessary. There are obviously consequences. Do we see A-Rod, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and them dopers with the same eyes that we saw them as when they were role models & superstars that we looked up to? One bad practice and you're no longer a fan favorite. Good luck on overcoming your fears.
Anxiety can definitely effect your sports performance. Anxiety is related to depression, it involves worrying about virtually everything (depending on the severity). Any thoughts that are not focused on the game at hand can effect your performance negatively.
Badly
Yes,
It affects your concentration and the performance. If you're very anxious, you can not focus or concentrate on work, school, and sports.
well anxiety effects your over all performance. You would be a ball hog as it is called, but you would not be a good team mate
It makes them think so much about the anxiety that they can think about the sport the are playing (I'm only 8).
One needs to be more specific. Which aspect of sports performance? Which sports.
