There is a shortboard and a longboard. A shorter board is easier to do tricks on but is harder to paddle/stand up on. A longboard is less maneuverable but easier to surf on.
Your not suppose to do tricks on a long board the just for going fast.
Better for beginners of what? If you want to longboard... learn on a longboardIf you want to skateboard... learn on a skateboardThey are quite different to ride, the principals are the same so if you can ride a longboard, you'll be able to ride a skateboard but you'll find doing tricks on a longboard is far harder than on a skateboard.
A bike is way harder to do tricks you have to time every thing or you will fall .
Bamboo is light for lonboarding but excellent for tricks and such. if you want a sturdy board you would want your board made out of maple but tricks are limited.
They are similar, but not exactly the same. A skateboard is shorter, and provides an opportunity to perform a greater variety of tricks. As has been testified to me, a longboard is easier to ride, as it is longer, and glides incredibly easily.
If your looking a longboard that does some tricks then findone that have a design like a skateboard so you can do tricksthat are more simple but if you are looking for a longboardthat can do things like varials then there isn't one that exists.
The answer to your question is in the questiong itself.
If you are a grommet (beginner in sk8ter talk) and you would like to do streetskating that involves kickflips, grinds, ollies, and kickturns then you should definetly get a trickboard. But if you are a more expierenced sk8ter who likes crusin' I reccommend a longboard. Overall a trickboard is more flexible and specifically designed for tricks.
Definitely get into longboarding. You'll find it very simple and relaxing compared to the constant pressure of having to be "the best" at tricks if you get into skateboarding.
It depends on the size of the wheels. I'd recommend Tunnel wheels.
it is harder, but yes, you can. as long as you are persistant and have an endless supply of doggie treats, haha
