Your not suppose to do tricks on a long board the just for going fast.
They are similar, but not exactly the same. A skateboard is shorter, and provides an opportunity to perform a greater variety of tricks. As has been testified to me, a longboard is easier to ride, as it is longer, and glides incredibly easily.
Better for beginners of what? If you want to longboard... learn on a longboardIf you want to skateboard... learn on a skateboardThey are quite different to ride, the principals are the same so if you can ride a longboard, you'll be able to ride a skateboard but you'll find doing tricks on a longboard is far harder than on a skateboard.
The disadvantages of using a cheap longboard are that they tend to be made of stiffer wood and when you ride the longboard there is no give or flexibility which gives a very unstable ride.
It makes it slightly harder to do tricks but it will help keep the board stable. I recommend getting some rises to help increase your pop of the board
No they are bad! for good boards go on a good longboard site or they will tell you the info on good boards for downhill, sliding and free ride.
You can use a longboard on any type of wave but gently breaking waves are best.
There is a shortboard and a longboard. A shorter board is easier to do tricks on but is harder to paddle/stand up on. A longboard is less maneuverable but easier to surf on.
Bamboo is light for lonboarding but excellent for tricks and such. if you want a sturdy board you would want your board made out of maple but tricks are limited.
No at least I don't think so
vult
i suggest 7-9 can longboard with parent guidance.then 10+ can longboard without parent guidance
it all depends how good you are..... most beginners ride 7'6'' foam boards or mals, most pros or good surfers ride short boards which are 6'0'' - 6''8. traditional longboard size is 9'6'', but you can buy different sizes ! i surf a 6'4''. so it's all up to how good you are.
