If you are a grommet (beginner in sk8ter talk) and you would like to do streetskating that involves kickflips, grinds, ollies, and kickturns then you should definetly get a trickboard. But if you are a more expierenced sk8ter who likes crusin' I reccommend a longboard. Overall a trickboard is more flexible and specifically designed for tricks.
well i think its like Surfing. The bigger the board the easier the ride. I have used longboards before and I find them easy to ride, but hard to turn. If you are younger a longboard will just send you stright and you wouldn't turn. But for the oldies, youll have a blast. Big boards for Big People. Plus if you are old and ride on a street board you wont look like the hulk...XD
That all depends on personal preference.
Longboards, although able to do certain tricks, are mainly used for getting around or "cruising", and are not known for their ability to execute pop-related tricks. Longboards are better as means of transportation. Longboards are more custom, and come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and types, depending on your style (Downhill, Slalom, Cruising, Carving, etc.). There are many types of Longboards, including pintails, drop through, and multiple variations of downhill boards.
Skateboards are much smaller than longboards, and are usually used for doing tricks. Because of their kicktail-shape, skateboards allow for much easier "pop". Most skateboards aren't designed for rough terrain (gravel, etc.) and are only used for tricks. Some skateboards, however, can be customized into "cruisers" or "Shlongboards". These forms of skateboards are made by either cutting longboard trucks into the tail of a deck, or by simply putting softer, larger wheels and risers on a skateboard deck.
There are other forms of longboards, called "Shortboards", which are about the length of a skateboard, but are much wider. These are commonly referred to as cruiser boards. Their length ranges from 24"-35" and they usually have medium-sized longboard wheels/trucks.
The best advice is to go out and skate. See which board suits your style.
It is all a personal opinion. I skateboarded for 4 years and when I got a longboard I quit Skateboarding. Personally, I like the style of longboarding more. It's a way different style and feel.
Yes
The shape of a longboard was invented before but the trucks and wheels were small like those of a skateboard. Early boards didn't have pop.
The cold can ruin a skateboard, heat can also ruin a skateboard.
The longboard skateboard is a variant of the skateboard and is commonly used for cruising, downhill, slalom, and racing. Longboard skateboards are available at sports shops nationwide and online at sites such as Amazon, Ebay and Craigslist.
Longboards
its called a longboard
Yes!! i bought one myself and i love it it rolls much better then any longboard!!
Liam does scootering!
e-bay
yeah, you'll need risers
They are similar, but not exactly the same. A skateboard is shorter, and provides an opportunity to perform a greater variety of tricks. As has been testified to me, a longboard is easier to ride, as it is longer, and glides incredibly easily.
loose trucks and a wide board
