Ballet is great for your body! it strengthens your leg muscles and really helps your balance, posture, and your flexibility. Depending on your personality, you might have a great time dancing like i do and forget that your even making a change in your body.

Ballet is an extremely good workout for toning muscles,flexibility and fitness as you increase your heart rate a lot. I do ballet 7 days a week and it is highly enjoyable.
Ballet Austin is a very good ballet school and is connected to a professional ballet company. There are ballet schools that are better, like the school of merican, Ballet Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet,etc., but Ballet Austin is for sure very good. If you are dancing there and you are willing to work hard you do have potential then to dance professionally. If you're dancing their I strongly reccomend attending Ballet Austin II and then maybe you will be able to dance professionally with Ballet Austin if that is what you wish. The Dance Center of Kirkwood is good for not just ballet, but they have strong jazz and tap classes as well. If you're just looking for ballet or a studio with more ballet emphasis, then the St. Louis Ballet School or the Alexandra School of Ballet are very good if you live near Chesterfield, MO.

it would be very hard learning ballet from videos etc as you really do need a teacher. but if you type on youtube basic ballet steps and start from there. then google ballet steps and learn how to do them from watching videos on youtube you can then start to put steps together. It would also be a good idea to get a book out from the liabary on ballet technique and a guide to ballet, so you learn how to train your body (posture, turn out etc) GOODLUCK!
You need to be very physically fit, be physically flexible and have good balance. You will need ballet shoes, and it would also be a really good idea to enter ballet school to get taught properly how to perform ballet.

Ballet is the root of all dances since it is considered the only dance with all the terms. And one thing that is also great about Ballet is that it is a good and fun exercise.
