Massage them everyday, this may sound weird but it is a great technique.

Step on the toe part of the shoe, not too hard or you may break them.

Also keep bending them back and forth.

Have fun pointe-ting !

first, you should put your pointe shoes on, wet the box (just a little) and walk around so they will shape to your foot.

to break them in you can gently bend the place in the shank where your arch is or in a door.

to knock the sound out of them (so they wont make loud clanky sounds while dancing) you can beat them on concrete.

It usually takes 6months to break in pointe shoes. This is because the pointe shoe is molding to your foot to get the correct shape and size of your foot. After you have broken in your pointe shoes, you might feel much more comfortable going on full pointe.

Once you first get your pointe shoe, try it on and walk on pointe around your house to get the feel of them. If you here cracking noise it is completely fine. It just means that you are breaking in your pointe shoes for the first time. If you cannot go on pointe do to a weak ankle or poor arch, then DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE YOUR POINTE SHOES. It can cause a serious injury due to the fact that you are unable to go on full pointe.

Breaking in your pointe shoes will take a very long time but if you use your pointe shoes everyday for a reasonable amount of time you might be able to break them in earlier than 6months. Just be sure not to use them everyday for long periods amount of time. This is will cause the bottom(the pice where you stand on full pointe) to wear away, for then causing to have to buy new pointe shoes.

Hope this helped you!

You can bend them with your hands, but the very best and smart way is to justy dance in them as much as you can. It strengthens your feet and it breaks the shoes in!

I lightly bend the shank. I also work the box and vamp with my hands until they are softer.

once you get your new point shoes, wear them everyday for at least 30 mins, (you dont have to dance, just walk around) it will take about 1-5 months depending on your leg and foot strenth.
