It is simply called a ring.

To elaborate further, the straw backing of a target is called a 'boss', not to be confused with what you get in computer games.

The paper or alternative material used to show the rings and other scoring pictures is called the "face".

(PLEASE NOTE: I am a real archer and I am an expert on the subject)

What is the inner-most circle on the archery target called?

It depends on what type of round you are shooting. If its a FITA round there is a separate inner ring which becomes the inner Gold or an X shot, counting as a 10. On an Imperial round anything in the Gold colour is a Gold scoring 9 points. A common mistake is to call an inner Gold as a bulls eye, which is faux pas in archery.

How many points do you score if you hit the black ring in archery?

In archery, hitting the black ring, which is the outermost ring on a target, typically scores 1 point. The target is divided into multiple rings, with each ring assigned a different point value. The innermost ring, usually colored gold or yellow, scores the highest points, while the outer rings score fewer points. The black ring is usually one of the outer rings and is commonly associated with a score of 1 point.

What colour is the centre scoring area of a archery target?

The WA ( World Archery Federation, former FITA ) targets are coloured as follows, from the inside out: * 9 ring, 10 ring and inner 10 ring - gold * 7 ring, 8 ring - red * 5 ring, 6 ring - blue * 3 ring, 4 ring - black * 1 ring, 2 ring - white

What colour is the inner ring of an Olympic archery target?

Over the years and around the world many different designs of archery target have been used. I'm sure some had red in the centre. However, today in target archery (e.g. as shot at the Olympics) the target face is standardised and the centre (which is never called the "Bullseye" by archers!) is yellow and is normally referred to as "Gold". An image of a target face can be found at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d5/Archery_Target_80cm.svg. Other target faces do exist; the most noticeably different would be one used for field archery which is all black apart from the centre which is, again, gold.

What is the area around bullseye called?

The area around the bullseye on a target is typically referred to as the "perimeter" or "outer ring." It is where lower-scoring values are assigned in activities like darts or archery.

What is the center of a curling target called?

The target area is called the "house." Any rock that touches a portion of the house can score. The very center point of the house is called the "tee." The circular area around the pin (usually white) is called the "button." The inner ring is called the "4-foot" ring (because it is 4 feet in diameter). The middle ring is the "8-foot," and the outer ring is the "12-foot."

What is the scoring in archery?

The answer is 10 The answer depends upon the type of target being used. Some targets will score the bullseye as 10 (Vegas 5-Dot), others as 5 (5-Spot). It has become common place for clubs to count the inner most ring of the Vegas target as an "X" which is counted separately to break ties among archers with identical scores. So it is not unusual to hear archers call an "X-Ring" shot an 11.

What is the alternative name for the bullseye on an archery target?

In some areas the "bullseye" is also known as the "center bull" or the "bull"; it is currently unknown exactly where the term originated. It is also often referred to as the "X" and many scoring systems will keep track of the number of X's shot. According to some sources, the centre of an archery target is also called the 'Gold'; the term apparently has origins with Henry VIII ("The Field of the Cloth of Gold", 1520 A.D.), although no documentation seems to exist which can be used to verify this claim. A "bullseye" is also used in reference to the game of darts. The"X" is known as the "Inner 10" and, as mentioned above, it is used in the scoring system. In certain forms of indoor archery, "The Inner 10 Ring" is largely used with Compound bows; compound bow users have to hit that to score 10; the outer 10 is for all other types of bow.
