it depends on if you are competitive. to win you would probably need about a 5:00 - 5:15 but im not quite sure because i am a 15 year old female and that's what i run it in, but i am in track. i would say anywhere from 5:30 - 6:00.
A 21 year old man should strive to run a mile in at least 9 minutes to be in the top 50 percent. To be in the top 1 percent, a young man should strive for less than that.
