The legendary soccer player Pele was very enthusiastic about Basketball, which is no wonder since Brazil has a rich basketball tradition too, from legendary Oskar Schmidt to today's players like Anderson Varejao. Pele played basketballl as a soccer training exercise and considered it the ebst training method for a soccer team; when you look at the offense of the Brazilian teams from Pele's time, they moved like they were playing basketball but on a bigger court. I remeber seeing black and white footage of Pele playing basketball, and he had a mean right layup and I think I even saw him slam dunk
