it is a thing..................
No, it is a high level Dressage movement first developed to be used in battle to keep a horse warm, on guard, and attentive to the rider's commands. Now it is more commomnly used in high level Dressage schooling, most often in the grand Prix.
Please Disregard the first response to your question. : )

It can be performed at the walk, trot, or canter
The horse gait that starts with a 'p' is called Piaffe.
You start by teaching them basic dressage. Teach them to push back to front, and then as you work up the ranks, you can learn collection and through collection - the Piaffe... There are "cheating" ways too but the TRUE trot in place is the Piaffe. It is an upper level Dressage movement.
A horse that can Piaffe is the slowest. A piaffe is a trot in place. That would be the Quarter Horse. I ride/show Quarter Horses and Saddlebreds. People think ponies are the slowest, but really they're probably the fastest. Poneies can throw you off in a minute. Hope this helps!!
hacking is when you take your horse to feilds and along roads ect dressage is stuff like flying changes, piaffe etc
A Piaffe is when the horse is in a highly collected trot on the spot. Likewise, a Passage is when the horse performs this elevated trot while moving forwards.
V= Flying change O= Trot S= Walk G= Gallop C= Canter Z= Piaffe Thats all I know so far. Hope it helped!
The piaffe and passage are movements exercised by horses while being ridden in the upper-levels of the discipline known as Dressage. Horses execute these movements - in some sense - whilst at liberty (i.e. - under no control or restraints by humans), but in Dressage they are much more refined and precise. The piaffeis a movement in which the rider asks the horse to trot so slowly that the animal almost appears to be trotting in place. When executed properly, the opposing front and rear hooves leave the ground at the same time, in a very precise rythm and speed. The horse's head should be held in frame (with the profile of the face being perpendicular to the ground) when executing this movement. The passage is when the horse is asked to trot with great impulsion and strength. The horse should be collected and the rider should exhibit great control. This movement is slower than a normal trot, but faster than the piaffe.
Hm. I'm not really sure what you are asking, since fancy is a pretty general term. But there is a Dressage move called Passage: The Piaffe: And there's also a fancy walk that the Tennessee Walking horses do:
In Pippa Funnell 1 you may get stuck on dressage and if you do go to the library and make that one of the things you need to do in your day then buy the books... Dressage: Walk, Dressage: Trot, Dressage: Gallop, Dressage: Piaffe and Dressage: Flying Change. You may not have enough money for them all at once so if you go to the library time by time or if you don't want to spend your money then on the screen when playing dressage when your walking and you approach a big question mark when your walking draw a S, Trot a O , gallop a G, Piaffe a Z and Flying Change a V. Hope that helps x
Spanish Lipizzaners are superb at special movements, called, 'Haute Ecole'. They are performed by highly trained riders and perform movements such as the Capriole, Airs above Ground and general dressage movements like passage and piaffe. The most common trick is bowing, which practically all the horses can do.
