Nothing to heavy. I usually have a plate of pasta or some rice and some sort of meat (pork beef chicken* fish*). The last two aren't really meat but any race or judo tournament I'm in I have that the night before. Darel Sitler famously had some Swiss Challet chicken the night before he scored the most points in a single hockey game. I believe it was 6 or something.
Eat a lot of carbohydrates the night before. eat some fruit about 2 hours before the race. Don't eat right before though because you will get sick. Its best to run on a empty stomach. At most if you want to eat a little something before, a good snack would be a gronola bar. Oh and make sure you drink lots of water the day before and early on before the race so you dont get dehydrated.
They should eat carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the body's main energy source. The morning of the race, you should eat proteins.
* Stretches * Eat a healthy meal that gives you lots of energy, about an hour (or later) before the race. DO NOT eat right before the race, otherwise you'll get cramps
Use the restroom an hour or two before the race.Eat easily digestible foods about an hour or two before the race such as bananas, granola bars, etc. The night before eat high-carb foods.
cheese
Nothing, they fast!
Runners like to eat a heavy carb diet before they have a race to run, they do not eat dairy because it is really hard to digest. Right before a race lots of runners like to eat bananas so they will not get leg cramps.
Exercise is pretty much exercise. It will not make a difference whether you run during the night or day. It is the same to your muscles. However, at night, there are extra precautions to take, such as making sure you are visible (wear clothing with reflective properties, or even small flashing lights). Also, be sure only to run in safe, well lit areas for safety, or even take a friend along.
Ok. . . NEVER eat or drink dairy products before a race, youll get very sick. I would suggest you to eat what i eat which is toast with peanut butter and bananas on it, only one peice of bread and fold the bread in half. Everyones different. this one girl on my cross country team cant race unless she eats breakfast at the waffle house. if she doesnt get to eat there then shell get sick and wont race very good. SO good luck with your choice, make sure to drink at least 3 bottles of water before a race
to eat omelets before the race
yes
Lots of food with carbs. Helps if you eat them the day before your race.
