That really depends on your body weight and your level of fitness and how hard you had to work to do this task. An experienced runner who normally does a 10K run in about 45 minutes would not even break a sweat to do a 5K in that same time. Such a great runner, if he or she were skinny and light, might only burn 400 calories on the whole run. A fat man who struggles and strains to come in at 40 minutes and sweated the whole way might burn 900 calories.
