Pretty much like any other single-speed bike, just a little smaller and more rugged.

Some will have a special thingy called a rotor or a detangler, which allows the handlebar to be spun w/o the brake wires getting twisted up. Some will have a freecoaster rear hub that can allows the bike to roll backwards w/o spinning the cranks.

The same way any bike is made. The frame + fork is made out of tubing, and then painted. Then the bike goes away to have all the various small parrts assembled.
