Jon Papelbon Mariano Rivera (born November 29, 1969 in Panama City, Panama) is a relief pitcher for Major League Baseball's New York Yankees. He has the 4th most regular season career saves in Major League history, is the American League career leader, and has won 4 World Series titles with the Yankees. He is the all-time Major League postseason leader in saves and ERA. Nicknamed "Mo", Rivera is frequently referred to as the greatest postseason relief pitcher of all time, and is often considered to be the greatest closer in Baseball history. Rivera is well-known for his signature pitch, a sharp-breaking cut fastball.
"According to the Hall of Fame website, it was Dennis Eckersley, Oakland A's 1987 season"
However that same season the Mn Twins signed Jeff Reardon who already had established himself as a great closer. From 1982 to 1987, he had season save totals of 26, 21, 23, 41, 35, 31. By 1987, Reardon had 177 saves over his previous 7 seasons. He went on from 1988 to 1992 to post save totals of 42, 31, 21, 40, 30. There are a number of other closers prior to Eckersley, he was just the first guy to be used primarily for only one inning and usually he started that inning. Lee Smith, Bruce Sutter, Goose Gossage and Rollie Fingers were all closers before Eckersley, but they often came in the game in the 8th inning even the 7th once in a great while. But they finished the game out from whenever point they went in. They earned their saves the hard way. They were called "closers" as well.

1. All the best, 2. With every good wish, 3. With kindest remembrances,
Robb Nen
Jim Brown. He's also the 2nd best back of all time.
Randy Johnson has the most strikeouts by a left handed pitcher. He also has the second most strikeouts all-time and over 300 wins.
Franz Beckenbauer.
The best female pitcher of all times would be Jennie Finch! She is the best of the best!
Cy Young
Arguably the best MLB pitcher of all time was Nolan Ryan. While he had thousands of walks, he also had a relatively low ERA and struck out over 5,000 batters.
dominic mattimore pithed the greatest game in the MLB
Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time was created in 1975.
I believe that he is the best of all time just based on his stats he's closing in on almost all of the passing records and he's currently the best QB in the NFL and he's 37 and that's pretty old for an NFL player.
Yes indeed they are closing. My husband works for Hoover and was told as of December 31, 2008 he will be out of a job. This is an awful time for everyone and i wish all the best of luck.
It is really a variation of "Best wishes" or "Best regards" type of closing. I personally like "All the best" because I think it avoids the type of confusion you have with the more abbreviated "Best".
any time you want, there is no limit, all you have to do is be willing to pay the closing costs, although it is best to wait atleast 2 years. Jamison.
There are many of them but if you were asking about the best this time it would be Mariano Rivera no doubt. He has the second most saves of all time and he only trails Trevor Hoffman who concedes to him as the BEST RELIEF PITCHER EVER!
Most of the time, the closing remarks at a high school graduation ceremony will wish the students all the best in the future. The speaker may also remind them the of the importance of a college education and that the possibilities for success are boundless.
Randy Johnson: Entering the 2008 season, he was 56 strikeouts behind Roger Clemens for second all time. Through his August 6th start against Pittsburgh, he had 114 strikeouts for the season, closing the gap to Nolan Ryan (1st all-time) to slightly under 1,000 strikeouts. http://www.enth.com/Home.aspx?q=what+pitcher+has+the+most+strikeouts
