The oldest franchises in the NFL is the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals began life as the Morgan Athletic Club (MAC) in Chicago Il. The Morgan Athletic Club was formed by Chris O'Brien in 1899. Before the formation of the NFL in 1920, team was the MAC then changed its name to the Normals, and then the Racine Cardinals, and then finally entered the NFL as the Chicago Cardinals (1920-1959). It has had a few name changes since then. The St; Louis Cardinals (1960-1987), the Pheonix Cardinals (1988-1993) and are now known as the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are the oldest continuing organiztion in pro footbal history. The Cardinls and the Chicago Bears are the only two franchises that have played in the NFL since 1920.
