Every track surface has its own optimum spike length. Current all weather tracks (rubberized) are built for best results with short (1/4" or 8mm} spikes and will not allow athletes to use longer spikes that will damage the expensive rubber surface. On wooden tracks a shorter spike might be advisable (so it doesn't get stuck in the wood, slowing the athlete). On a dirt track, much longer spikes will work better though it still depends on the kind of dirt surface. A clay surface might still suggest a shorter spike than a more granulated or rocky kind of surface.
you can usually get good spikes specifically for triple jump, look on google and find some spikes their, it should tell you if they are specific to triple jump.
I do long jump, triple jump, and 100m and they work great. But it depends what you consider short distance. work for everything 400m and under. it has no padding on the heel so jumping with sprinting spikes can cause injury.

the best spikes for hurdles are sprinting spikes, there are some pretty fancy specific expensive ones that the professionals use, but the sprinting spikes you can get at any good sport shop. :) ^^^ that's wrong, for hurdling you want spikes with a heel. A heel much smaller than jumping spikes but definitely bigger than the non-existent one on regular sprinting spikes
they have different bars and mats and also the athletes wear spikes on their shoes. Back then they diddn't have spikes on their shoes US Athlete Dick Fosbury was no flop......

Adidas adizero TJ 2.0. They feel much more stable and cushioned than the nike ones. The nike TJ spikes are very similar to their long jump spikes, for me the spike plate is far too long which makes the landings too hard and unstable. I would be worried for me ankles in the nike ones.
