The Stanley Cup is the oldest professional sports trophy in North America. It was donated by the former Governor General of Canada Lord Stanley of Preston in 1892 as an award for Canada's top-ranking amateur Ice Hockey club. Today, it is the top trophy of the National Hockey League (NHL).

in 2011 each CFL teams get close to 2 million per team. The TV deal is up in 2012 and the CFL should be able to double the current deal to around 160 million for 5 years, which would give each team 4 million. Then every team in the CFL will turn a profit
