When most people think of the biggest trade in NFL History the Hershel Walker to Minnesota trade, in which a total of 18 players moved across the boards, pops into their head. However, Minnesota received more than a single player from Dallas in that deal (Walker & a 1990 5th round pick; Dallas received RB Darrin Nelson from Minnesota in the Walker deal, traded Neson to San Diego for a 5th round pick in 1990, which it sent back to Minnesota.)
For a single player there were two trades in NFL History that stand apart. The Ollie Matson trade of 1959 and the Eric Dickerson trade of 1987. The record for most players traded for a single NFL player stands at 9 for 1.
In 1959 The Chicago Cardinals (now the Arizona Cardinals) traded Hall of Fame RB Ollie Matson to the Los Angeles Rams. In return the Cardinals received 9 players. the breakdown:
