There are a few things you can do, tee the ball up, the ball should ideally be half a ball above the top line. With your normal swing speed imagine you are sweeping the ball off the tee. Also, (For right handed players, lefthanded players obviously vice versa) drop your right shoulder, this will raise your left shoulder, this gives you the ideal set up for the driver, it will also give you more distance.

You may also consider your driver, if you are hitting the ball too low, you should consider a more flexible shaft, and more loft on your driver. As you have more loft, you will create more spin, therefore the ball goes higher, and not as far. However, many players are willing to sacrifice distance for accuracy.

What is the wood used to hit the ball off the tee?

The main one would obviously be the driver. But you can use any wood off the tee. 3 woods are favoured when the player may run out of room with the driver or there is a very tight driving hole.

How to choose which tee height to use for tee off?

A good rule of thumb for a driver is to have the equator of the ball at the top of the clubface. If you have a modern "Volkswagen on a stick" driver you will need 3" tees or longer. Fairway woods might be a little lower, long irons lower still, and by the time you get to mid- to short irons, just give yourself a good lie.

When kicking a field goal will not using a tee make you kick farther or shorter?

The tee allows a kicker to get more underneath the ball, and adds great length to the kick. It is also alot easier to kick off of a tee. I know high school kickers who can kick 52 yards off a tee no problem, but are horrible off the ground. The tee makes a huge difference, and adds great length to the kick.

How deep should you insert a golf tee?

Honestly it is personal preference. Although as a general rule when using your driver half of the ball should be above the top of the driver, and the same for your woods. You should tee your long irons up so the ball is roughly in the middle of the club face and for shorter irons and wedges you should tee it up so that the ball is just off the ground so you can stike down on the ball, compress it and get some spin.

My husband wants to tee off from the ladies tee box. the red tee boxes. Is this allowed?

He can if he wants to, but he could be the butt of many jokes! If it is general play, he can tee off from wherever he wants to, but if it is an official competition he has to tee off from the stipulated tee box. If he doesn't feel he hits the ball far enough he could simply hit off the forward tees, but if he really wants to hit off the ladies tees nothing can stop him.
