that is not true my girlfriend,Robin Shumaker, who goes to school at pontotoc ms city school ran a 4:58 last night and her best is 4:42
Can't be true. Too fast for 7th grade. With a 4:42 in 7th grade, she's on track for the 2012 Olympics. Jordan Hasay (current 12th grade phenom) only runs about a 4:32 mile, and she made the olympic trials finals last year.
Totally agree, 4:42 for 7th grade is physically impossible. World record is around 5:30.
My sister is Cory Mcgee and she is on a full ride at University of Florida and her time is around a 4:44 and she is only a freshman and i am in seventh grade and my mile time is around a 5:44 and improving. This is definatly not true so stop lieing to make yourself and friend feel good about yourself.
Jason Beaver, 7 years old, on January 18, 2009, ran the fastest time for a mile 6:22 at a USATF Sanctioned event (Smith College, Northampton, MA) It may have been the fastest that day, but it was not even close to the fastest ever. Somewhere around 5:07 is the U.S. record for a 7-year old. Jason Beaver did set the U.S. 7-year old record for a half marathon earlier this year with a time of around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The fastest i have heard is 1:58 which is crazy but true. TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE. mile record is about 5:30
some kid got five forty six
1 hour
the average mile time for a seventh grade girl so she can maybe get a place is from a 7 minute mile and all the way down to a 6:10 mile. which is at there slowest time for a 7 minute mile now days its usually a lot faster.
The record for the fastest mile run the high school track is 3.53.43.
A great Tim would be 10 mins because I am the fastest kid in seventh grade cross country and run 11 30 and Olympic runners get 8 sometimes 9
My grandson ran a 1:35 quarter mile, it was the best in his school for K thru 3rd grade. he is in kindergarten.
That would depend on several factors, such as your gender, your age, whether or not you've hit puberty, etc. If I remember correctly from seventh grade, the fastest people in my PE class got around 6 minutes, but I've heard of boys running closer to 5 minutes or so. That said, don't push yourself too hard in seventh grade. Especially if you haven't gotten your growth spurt, chances are you're going to get a lot faster later in life if you keep training.
The fastest 6th-grade cross-country time can vary depending on the individual, the course, and the competition. However, a competitive time for a 6th grader could be around 5-6 minutes per mile for a 1-mile race.
It would depend on how long you've been running and what grade you're in. If you're in 6th grade, I'd say a good time for boys would be 6:30-8:00 for 1 mile (multiply that by 1.5 for a 1.5-mile race). If you're in 7th grade, maybe 6:00-7:30 for 1 mile. For 8th graders, 5:15-6:30. Again, if your races are 1.5 miles, multiply that mile time by 1.5. If you run 2-mile races (which I doubt, for middle school), multiply it by 2. Although, keep in mind that you probably won't be able to maintain your mile pace for 1.5 or 2 miles, so it will be about 15-30 seconds per mile slower.
It is the number set that everyone shoots for. As an example, in a P.E. class, the benchmark for 8th grade boys in the mile is 8 minutes. Then 8 minutes or less is the time all the 8th grade boys shoot for.
the fastest mile time for 14 year-olds is 5 minutes and 59 seconds
