It depends on where you live there are a lot of good places in California, Utah, Colorado. And there also a few good ones in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
a really good place is The Village at Mammoth
Next answerer: The best place to go skiing is in the Alps. All northamerican resort are tiny to what the Alps can offer. For example is Paradiski more than ten times (in area) as big as Whistler-Blackcomb (the largest northamerican resort). Some other top resorts: Les 3 Vallées, 4 Vallées, Dolomiti Superski, Portes du Soleil and Alpe d´Huez.

Definitely out west, like Colorado or Utah, or Alaska. Alaska ha no resorts, but some of the best back country and heliriding in the world. My favorite place out west is called Snowmass , Aspen. I haven't been many places out west though. I heard that Jackson Hole was really good too.Alaska does have ski resorts and California is a rad place to snowboard also
Probably in Canada, vacouver. Becuase there snow is fresh every day there. I recommend you to go to WHISTLER !
It is all personal opinion but most people, and me, who have skied Vail, Colorado think that there is best. It has easy trails all the way down the mountain for beginners and extreme terrain courses for others. But, most people go there so they can ski the famous Blue Sky Basin. It is on the back of the mountain and has some courses that let you "choose your own path" through the trees. I like it because it allows freedom and yields sick moguls. Also, dining is fairly nice. The best place to go is Two Elk Lodge because it has everything from burgers to pasta to salads. Plus, it tastes amazing. Then, at the bottom of the mountain there are three little shopping centers, Vail Village, Lionshead, and Golden Peak. Depending on where you finish skiing depends on where you end up but, you can always take the bus. Beaver Creek, another nice mountain, is also a good place to go. All in all, it is all opinion and you just have to go out and try different things and see which one you love best.
There are some excellent beginner slopes and instructors available in Utah. Solitude is a great secret that is shared among the locals. But don't tell anyone that I said so. ;)
Great places to ski are Aspen, Vail, Durango, Teluride, and Park City. all of them are in Colorado
