Yes... Swimming is a sport. Swimming is harder than football and most other sports. It gives you an all around work out. Most kids who played football and then tried swimming said it was harder. Did you watch the Olympics?

here's something 2 add on 2 that:im 12 and i swim and u have to practice at least 12 hrs a week!!!!!ha that's hard...

I'm 14 and I practice 3 hours a day 6 days a week and if I didn't I wouldn't be good at the sport.

Swimmers usually can lift more and last longer than any in other sports, but also have a lot of injuries to show as well. As mentioned above, swimmers spend hours upon hours in a pool (some near 8 to 9 hours a day - 7 days a week). Swimmers have been known to rip muscles, break bones, and feel drained, but still get the job done. Kudos to swimmers - they don't get the respect they deserve.
