Calories burned while exercising vary person to person, but a person who weighs 150 pounds would, on average, burn 414 calories in an hour of swimming. So, for 10 minutes, this translates to about 69 calories burned.

It depends, if your swim really fast and vigourusly then you will burn more, where as if you swim really slow and steadily you won't burn as many. It's like running, keeping a fast but steady pace helps you burn more then walking it.

the truth is you really do not burn any calories, the energy you lose while running is regained by the mitochodria in a body which produces all the calories you lost while running
