Just like Messi, Ronaldo was very good at a young age, and as a teenager was invited to an academy where he played many hours a day. He soon joined the team C.D. Nacional and his successes with the team led to a move to Sporting two seasons afterwards. Ronaldo's precocious talent caught the attention of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and he signed the 18-year-old for £12.24 million in 2003. Now he plays on the Real Madrid team and has also been playing for the Portugal national team.

Ronaldo started playing football at the age of ten, for his village club in Meridia, from there he was sold to Sporting Lisbon and then to Manchester United, and now plays for Real Madrid.

It is most likely because of money as his father was a drunkcard and in debt . It could also be Eusibo the famous footballer who was his idol.
