There are only 2 sizes of sticks in the sport of Lacrosse, long poles and short poles. Long poles are generally used for defense and short sticks are generally used for offense. You will choose your stick length based on the position you play.

about 42 inches as midgets and juniors rules go. no shorter than 42 inches defense should be 54.

When i was 10 i was attack and i started out with a 30 inch short pole... you may want to get a 28 inch though.

They should be able to put their finger at the end of the shaft (Pole) near where the head of the stick where the ball goes and have the end of the shaft in their armpit.
