In Baseball, you are assigned strict positions that you should never move out of the boundaries of. In Hockey, you get more freedom as to where you can go.

In baseball, the offense can only have up to 4 players on the field. In hockey, you always have 6 unless there is a penalty.

Baseball is played in summer, hockey in winter.

In baseball, you use a bat to make the ball fly in the air. In hockey, you use a stick to shoot the puck across the ice.

In baseball, you must use your hands. In hockey, only the goalie can.

Baseball uses runs, hockey goals.

Have I explained the difference yet?

offense: Basketball, you shoot through the hoop to score. baseball, you have to hit the ball then run all the way around the bases to score. (basketball gets higher scores, and the points are spread around more, and its much funner.) defense:basketball, its more physical, where you can actually try to stop them from scoring by blocking their shots and stealing the ball. baseball, you can stand at a certain position and do something with the ball if it comes to you. (basketball is a much more physical and quicker paced game- more involvement from every player) all together: basketball is mostly a physical sport, and baseball is not.

Baseball has 9 players per side, a small ball thrown across a "plate" has to be hit by one opposing player with a "bat" who then runs counterclockwise to the corners of a diamond shaped group of "bases". The player scores 1 point by running to and stepping on the bases and stepping on the last base called "home plate". Basketball has 5 players per side, a larger ball is advanced toward a goal known as a "basket" by bouncing the ball off the floor while moving forward. The players throw the ball or "shoot" it at the basket. If the ball goes through the basket, 2 or 3 points are scored, depending on the distance from the basket. A penalty shot taken from the "free throw" line is worth 1 point. These are only very basic differences explaining the offense part of each game.

Baseball involves using a near-cylindrical bat to strike a ball which has been thrown at the batter; the batter then attempts to navigate four bases before arriving at his starting point called home base. Complete home runs are totaled for the score of each team. Teams bat in innings, alternating their players until a certain number have gotten out, at which point they swap. Players can be out by having the ball caught on the full, striking out (missing a pitch within a certain area) or being run out or tagged by the ball before reaching a safe base.

Football uses a much larger inflated ball (as opposed to a fist-sized one of cork and fabric), which can be manipulated by - depending on the code - the hands, the feet, the body, the head or all of these. Various styles have different objectives, but the basic idea is to advance the ball towards a goal, which is defended by the opposing team. Scoring can take place in many ways, again depending on the code, ranging from putting the ball into a goal and/or over it, getting the ball into the space above a certain part of the field, placing the ball in a controlled manner on the ground in cetain areas, or driving the opposing team into their own area with possession. Various methods of awarding points exist, many of which give similar points for similar actions.

What are some differences between football and baseball?

Baseball and football are both alike and different in many ways. I am going to start with the alikeness. Baseball and football are both sports that allow you to use your hands. They both have professional players. Now, for the differences! In football, you kick the ball while in baseball you pitch the ball with a bat. In football, you need a lot more padding and you need to wear a helmet. In baseball, you only wear a helmet when you are batting. In baseball, you use a round ball while in football you use a oblong ball. Football is a fast-moving game while baseball is a slow game. In football you compete for offense, while in baseball you take turns.

What are some differences between soccer and baseball?

There is very little in common between soccer and baseball. Soccer is a timed game, baseball has no time limit. In soccer, offense and defense are played simultaneously or change rapidly and often, in baseball the offense and defense is well-structured in tops and bottoms of innings. Soccer players primarily use their feet to control the ball, baseball players use their hands on defense or a bat on offense. Soccer has a variety of fouls and sanctions, whereas baseball players can be called Out, or possibly ejected for misconduct. Soccer matches can usually end in a tie, baseball games must have a winner. Soccer teams field more players at a time than baseball. Soccer officials are called referees, baseball officials are called umpires. In soccer, only one official can make calls and decisions, while the assistants simply communicate their observations to the referee. In baseball, each umpire has final dominion over his own responsibility.
