Offensive, defensive, technical, and flagrant. Offensive is when your team has the ball and is trying to score and someone on your team fouls a defensive player. Defensive is the opposite of offensive. Technical is when a player or is being unsportsmanlike to a player, coach, or ref. If you are T'd up (called for a technical foul) twice, you are ejected from the game and may receive fines or suspensions depending on how often you get technical fouls and the reason you got the technical foul. Flagrant is intentionally fouling a player very hard, typically resulting in injury/ies. Examples are stopping a layup by checking someone with your body (imagine Shaquille O'Neal colliding with Steve Nash and think of the impact). If the flagrant foul is bad enough, it can become a flagrant 2. If you get a flagrant 2 you are ejected immediately.
They can be broken up into 2 diffrent catagories, with many in both categories: Offensive: * Charge *Push *Illegal Screen *Hit/Hack *Over the Back *Holding *Technical Defensive: * Blocking *Push *Hold *Hit/Hack *Over the Back *Holding *Technical *Intentional *Flagrent In the NBA, there is a technical foul given to any defensive player whom stays in the lane area under the basket for more than three seconds without making any moves. Also in the NBA, there is a loose ball foul, which is given to any player whom "commits a foul upon the ball." (i.e.-kicking it, throwing it, etc.)
charge. reach.
After 5 fouls you are out of the game
i think the avrage is 4 fouls
5
5 fouls is when a Basketball player will be kicked out of a basketball game due to fouling out.
If you get two technical fouls or you happen to cuss out the ref in your church ball game. Also you do not run into the stands and punch the fans. That is not good.
5 per player
In most leagues it is 5 fouls until you are out. However, in some tournaments they can make up whatever rules they want so any number of fouls. But basically it is 5 fouls. -Kristen (I have played basketball for 6 years)
No, maxium of fouls are allowed in a game is 5 fouls. If you have 5 fouls, you are out of the game. You may sit and watch but depending on the referee. So, there are no 4 fouls. Maybe if you are in a town tourament for fun...
unlike in the NBA that the maximum of fouls is six, in a high school game the maximum of fouls you can commit is five fouls. I recommend you not to foul to hard because the ref can expel you from the game if he thinks that you did it on purpose. believe me it have happened to me. good luck.
6
on player can have up to four fowls if they get 5 they are out of the game, and they are when a player slaps or hitts the other players arms (from hand to shoulder), or when a player blocks another player and moves they feet :-)
