no, they are bio-degradable, usually consisting of fish oil. they are actually seen as eatable since the process to make them is almost the same as jelly beans (do not try to eat one however, i can tell you from personal experience you will not get that taste out of your mouth for 15 minutes and it is bad)

The paint balls are biodegradable so they do not harm the environment at all. This was a big deal when paintball first started, so all the manufactures of paint balls now go out of their way to make sure they are safe for the environment

Well, plastic takes a long time to break down once it's in landfills (considering how cheaply airsoft guns tend to be made, it's a safe assumption a good number of them do end up in landfills), and the pellets have the potential to create a choking hazard for small animals who might mistake them for food, and most of them are manufactured in countries who aren't particularly strict about following environmental protection laws, but I sort of doubt airsoft guns will be the device to bring about the world's demise upon all of mankind.

No, it is not. The bb's may effect a little but not much. If an animal ate it, it wouldn't die. It's not going to kill the plants(unless you shoot them).
